  • Pathfollow doesn`t work with particle sim?

    Hi there,

    I tried to make paticle smoke follow a spline like in your "finesmoke.max" sample, but it seems that the Pathfollow force doesn`t work with that, is this true?
    If so, is there any way to make the particles follow a path?

    Hey lichtmaschine,

    What do you mean by particle smoke? Are you emitting drag particles from a source?

      Drag particles are not affected by any of the forces directly, because they are just dragged with the velocity of the simulator. You could emit smoke alongside the drag particles, set the simulator's smoke buoyancy to a negative number in order to be attracted by the path follow force, and then turn off smoke rendering from the simulator's render settings - this will be one way to trick the drag particles into following the path force.
